As a collector of Air Sickness Bags. I am interested in obtaining new specimens. If you happen to encounter any kind of sickness bag, would you kindly send me one (unless it's plain white)? Here's the "corporate" address:

Steve Silberberg
9 Third St.
Hull, MA 02045
USA

Actually, airlines change their bags every few years, so if you ever notice a change, please snatch that bag and send it to me! I would be very grateful for any help you might provide. Many thanks in advance.

Lufthansa

Approximate Vintage: 1985
Background / Bag Color: Pukey Tan-Gold
Exactly the same as the other lame Lufthansa bag, except the bottom on this bag is white. On the previous incarnation of this bag, the bottom is the same pukey color as the rest of the bag.

Lot Polish Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 1996
Received From: Peter Brown
Print or Image Color: Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
Same as 1998 version, but has a different shade of blue. It's probably not worth distinguishing between the other bag, but this one is blue, the 1998 one is navy and the 1995 bag is aqua. You can see the difference.

Iberia

Received From: Bruce Kelly
Print or Image Color: Red
Background / Bag Color: White
Wow, a huge monstrosity entirely in Spanish with lots of helpful instructions, such as "Y coloquese a un lade en el piso", which in English means "Have a colonoscopy on the side of the floor".

Kenya Airways

Received From: Manfred Kleber
Print or Image Color: Red and Black
Background / Bag Color: White
Odd that an African airline has English only. Like KLM's Dusty the Kangaroo, this bag is 'for a clean feeling'.

Continental

Approximate Vintage: 1984
Print or Image Color: Black and Red
Background / Bag Color: White
Went to generic look

Dan Air

Approximate Vintage: 1997
Received From: Graham
Same as it ever was, except directions are printed much lower on the bag.

Delta Air Lines

Approximate Vintage: 1979
Print or Image Color: Red and Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
Only the bottom of this bag differs from the 1982 version with the polite German (which is really a 1980 version that was still in use in 1982). The bottom actually says "7-79", so it was dated for your identification convenience. Apparently, some Germans felt that the bag's instructions weren't courteous enough. In response, Delta added the word "Bitte" (please) so that passengers felt respected when throwing up.

Egypt Air

Approximate Vintage: 1985
Received From: Richard David Glueck
Print or Image Color: Red and White
Background / Bag Color: White
Has pretty white rose on a red bag, but the bottom of this bag shows ELAG as the manufacturer without a logo.

Jet Airways

Approximate Vintage: 2012
Received From: Wolfgang Lüthje
Print or Image Color: White
Background / Bag Color: Blue
Same font as always, but Jet Airways updates its color scheme.

Emirates

Approximate Vintage: 2014
Received From: Marc de Kort
Print or Image Color: White, Gray
Background / Bag Color: Gray
Emirates goes to pictograms but in a brilliant move, also includes text just in case someone can't figure out what a picture of cans and bottles with a check-mark next to them is supposed to mean.

Also, the front is in Arabic, not English which I guess means that there are now actual people from the UAE who fly.

Avianca

Approximate Vintage: 2008
Received From: Denir Camargo
Print or Image Color: Black, Red
Background / Bag Color: White Plastic
Avianca goes for a stylish rendition of string art. According to Denir, the new Avianca reflects the takeover (or merge) with Ocean Air.

Trip Linhas Aéreas

Received From: Denir Camargo
Print or Image Color: Blue, Navy
Background / Bag Color: White plastic
Another offering from Trip, except this one has a light blue "I" in the logo. Not sure that it affects anyone except barf bag collectors clamoring for the full set of Trip bags.

Druk Air

Approximate Vintage: 2010
Received From: Alex McNeil
Print or Image Color: Red, Black
Background / Bag Color: White
This bag sports and elaborately drawn dragon.

Air Canada

Received From: David Goldberg
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: White
Same as other black and white bags, except bottom says DRG (minus the word 'packaging'). Oh those nutty manufacturers.

Air China

Approximate Vintage: 1997
Received From: Linda Phillips
Print or Image Color: Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
Orange Seal, rounded font, no printing on back

Air Europe

Received From: Graham
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: White
Black print and nice graduated red and orange hues on a white bag. Their logo looks somewhat like an abstract warped airplane.

American Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 1982
Foto Post Film Labs

Bangkok Airways

Approximate Vintage: 2012
Received From: Rainer Schwartz
Print or Image Color: White
Background / Bag Color: Blue
The bag is now stylized with many different shades of blue that still look like gas company flames.

China Eastern

Approximate Vintage: 2010
Received From: Rainer Schwartz
Print or Image Color: Purple
Background / Bag Color: White
China Eastern finally spells Water-Proofed correctly. Oh happy day!

Southwest Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 2014
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: White
Same generic-looking bag as ever, except they added the instructions: "FOLD DOWN TWICE AND SECURE WITH TWIST TIE" to the bag.

The bottom of the bag says "U.S. Patent No. 7,041,042 and features LK Plastics.
