As a collector of Air Sickness Bags. I am interested in obtaining new specimens. If you happen to encounter any kind of sickness bag, would you kindly send me one (unless it's plain white)? Here's the "corporate" address:

Steve Silberberg
9 Third St.
Hull, MA 02045
USA

Actually, airlines change their bags every few years, so if you ever notice a change, please snatch that bag and send it to me! I would be very grateful for any help you might provide. Many thanks in advance.

Ghoulardi Ghoul

Approximate Vintage: 1998
Received From: Bob Paulin
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: Tan
If you're ever in Cleveland on a Friday night, tune into "The Ghoul" on WB 55 at 11:30 PM. As part of a Christmas Parade, the show distributed these bags to an unsuspecting public. The bag warns you, "Do not use while operating stuff or juggling Kielbasi!". Now that's good sensible advice!

SICKSÄVER

Approximate Vintage: 2002
Received From: Fredy Thürig
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: White
The sick stick figure indicates the proper form for vomiting. You must throw up while sitting down, head bent forward. Would make an excellent petroglyph or cuneiform. On the inseam of the bag (not shown), the word SickSaver has an umlaut over the A. Why? I have no clue. But someone at SickSaver apparently does. They will also be happy to sell you 5 of these for $4.95.

Corsica Ferries

Approximate Vintage: 2002
Received From: Reiner Schulz
Print or Image Color: White
Background / Bag Color: Green
This bag is a winner! It's sad when empty, but happy when full. The bag itself is enormous. It is supplied by F. Bagglietto & Figlio (whatever that is). Apparently they've been supplying these since 1875. Wow!

First Ferry

Approximate Vintage: 2002
Received From: Christian Annyas
Print or Image Color: Black and Purple
Background / Bag Color: White
One of the few bags that actually say 'Vomit Bag' on it, instead of a more delicate euphemism. I just love the black and purple!

Hover Speed

Received From: Graham
Print or Image Color: Red and Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
Perhaps they meant to call it 'Hoover Speed'? The speed at which you Hoover down the food.

I had originally listed this as one of the Air Sickness Bags, but Thomas Payne pointed out that, "The Hover Speed bag should be in the sea-sickness section, not air. They operate hover-craft services from Dover to Calais (Uk to France), and believe me, a lot of those bags get used, especially when the sea is rough! Its so bumpy you cant drink a cup of tea without spilling it down yourself!

Hover Craft guru Lamar Bordelon says, "The Hovercraft is the funny looking thing that floats on a cushion of air just above the surface of either land or water. The ones carrying people and cars between England and Europe have two large motor-driven fans which blow the air under the craft, and another two fans which propel it along. There is a huge neoprene skirt around the outer edges of the craft to hold the air cushion in as the craft lifts and floats above the surface. (As you might imagine, it needs fairly smooth surfaces to travel over, which is why it didn't get much acceptance as a mode of transportation by the military). You can find a lot about them by going straight to HoverSpeed at here".

Sally Ferries

Received From: Holger Huette
Print or Image Color: Red and White
Background / Bag Color: Black
Looks a little bit like 'Salty Ferries'. I got this in a swap for a CD.

Troms Fylkes Dampskipsselskap

Received From: Christian Annyas
Print or Image Color: Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
Christian must spend his life on ships! He comes up with really cool sea sickness bags. What's there not to like about this bag? Emblazoned on the front of the bag is the enormous word, 'Reisesykepose'. Norway sure loves overly long names for things. As Christian says, "You've got to love the name Troms Fylkes Dampskipsselskap". Nice foil pouch inside too!

KC-135

Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: Manilla
This bag is used in the "Vomit Comet" which trains astronauts to withstand weightlessness. It comes along with a piece of tissue paper which is supposedly used as a moustache wipe (for hairy male astronauts).

Swissair

Approximate Vintage: 1997
Same as other Swissair bags except this one has a tearoff strip
