As a collector of Air Sickness Bags. I am interested in obtaining new specimens. If you happen to encounter any kind of sickness bag, would you kindly send me one (unless it's plain white)? Here's the "corporate" address:

Steve Silberberg
9 Third St.
Hull, MA 02045
USA

Actually, airlines change their bags every few years, so if you ever notice a change, please snatch that bag and send it to me! I would be very grateful for any help you might provide. Many thanks in advance.

Ryanair

Approximate Vintage: 2004
Received From: Alan Howlett
Although this bag doesn't say Ryanair on it anywhere, it is the bag used on said airline. In fact, the only way you might guess it's a barf bag at all is by looking at one of the women in the sample photograph who is covering her mouth, obviously nauseated.

Sabena

Approximate Vintage: 2000
Received From: Benoit Meyer
Print or Image Color: Gray
Background / Bag Color: White
Sabena goes minimalist. They changed the logo to either look like a gray verison of the old Coca-Cola logo or something that Bill Amend (Foxtrot) drew on a soda can.

SAS

Approximate Vintage: 1989
Received From: Craig Richards
Print or Image Color: Blue and White
Still has black dots but SAS is now centered.

SAS

Approximate Vintage: 2000
Received From: Christian Funch
Background / Bag Color: Half Blue, Half White
In a bold marketing decision, SAS threw subtlety to the wind and put their name RIGHT ON THE FRONT of the bag.

SAS

Approximate Vintage: 2001
Received From: Christian Funch
Background / Bag Color: Half Blue, Half Gray
Very distinguished, with the word "Scandinavian" in the folds.

Saudi Arabian Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 2005
Received From: Ted Noon
Print or Image Color: Green, Blue and White
Background / Bag Color: White and Blue
Much like the previous version, but added non-sensical green lines and extra obfuscation.

Ahh yes, the swords under the palm tree. Reminiscent of the big X (instead of W) in "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World"

Shandong Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 2005
Received From: Uwe Behling
Print or Image Color: Navy and Red
Background / Bag Color: White
This bag tells you to "Open here before use", which I think is much better than opening the bag after use.

Singapore Airlines

Received From: Edward C Hibbs
Print or Image Color: White
Background / Bag Color: Yellow, Navy, White
Part of the Hibbs Collection that I bought on eBay: $10 for a pile of them, most of which I had. This bag has very bold blue and yellow, like Pluna.

Singapore Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 1995
Received From: Ken Costilow
Background / Bag Color: Blue and Purple
Has a purple bottom, no Elag.

Singapore Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 1999
Received From: Mari van Rijbroek
Background / Bag Color: Blue & Purple
Has the cryptic ACS (alt.comedy.standup?) in the fold

Singapore Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 2000
Received From: Christian Funch
Background / Bag Color: Blue & Purple
Darker colors and added a blue strip to the top.

Singapore Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 2004
Received From: Gilles Beger
Background / Bag Color: Blue & Purple
Now Singapore bags aren't just for Air Sickness, they're for litter too.

SN Brussels Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 2003
Received From: Frederic Courtay
Print or Image Color: Blue, Red, Purple
Background / Bag Color: White
While SN is the element abbreviation for Tin, this bag is decidedly paper. Another airline in the long line of failed Sabena spinoffs.

Song Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 2004
Print or Image Color: Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
At the time of this writing, Song bags are difficult to find. I don't why, since they're crappy Delta clones, but such is life!

South African Airways

Received From: Roger MacRae
Print or Image Color: White
Background / Bag Color: Blue
Big bag with pterydactyl logo and interference lines.

South African Airways

Approximate Vintage: 1999
Received From: David Harris
Print or Image Color: Blue and White
Background / Bag Color: Tan and White
Has six pictographic instructions. But I don't get it. Are there people who think "Cans etc." somehow excludes solid litter and cups? And what moron thinks that "No liquids" isn't covered by "Solid litter only"?

South African Airways

Approximate Vintage: 2000
Received From: Roger MacRae
Print or Image Color: Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
Has six pictographic instructions. The "Leave Bag on Seat" admonition is pretty cool because the bag pictured on the seat is an SAA bag

South African Airways

Approximate Vintage: 2004
Received From: Eric Van Amerom
Print or Image Color: Navy
Background / Bag Color: White
Still has six pictographic instructions, but now there are 3 wacky lines emanating from a single point, mindlessly going nowhere. Plus I think they list their hubs now: CPT (Cape Town), LHR (London), FRA (France), HKG (Hong Kong), BAG (Baghdad?).

Spanair

Approximate Vintage: 1997
Received From: Diane Moses
Print or Image Color: Blue and Orange
Background / Bag Color: White
Paper. Low stars on inseam (not shown).

Spanair

Approximate Vintage: 2000
Received From: Christian Funch
Print or Image Color: Blue and Orange
Background / Bag Color: White
Now with a newer, slightly bolder logo. The laminar flow logo now looks like ravioli.
