As a collector of Air Sickness Bags. I am interested in obtaining new specimens. If you happen to encounter any kind of sickness bag, would you kindly send me one (unless it's plain white)? Here's the "corporate" address:

Steve Silberberg
9 Third St.
Hull, MA 02045
USA

Actually, airlines change their bags every few years, so if you ever notice a change, please snatch that bag and send it to me! I would be very grateful for any help you might provide. Many thanks in advance.

PIA

Approximate Vintage: 2000
Received From: Christian Funch
Print or Image Color: Forest Green and Lime Green
Background / Bag Color: White
They decided to desegregate the English and Arabic. I hope nobody's hand got chopped off for that!

Tarom

Received From: Christoph Vogel
Print or Image Color: Blue
Background / Bag Color: Brown
Old style bag with the rotated peace symbol. Almost identical to another Tarom bag, except this is on a brown paper lunch bag, not a white sack.

Thai Airways

Approximate Vintage: 1988
Received From: Linda Weber
Print or Image Color: Red
Background / Bag Color: Brown

Turkish Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 1995
Received From: Walter Brinker
Print or Image Color: White
Background / Bag Color: Gray
AKA Turk Hava Yollari. Same as other 1995 THY bags, except has a white top strip and gray bottom.

Bangkok Airways

Approximate Vintage: 2003
Received From: Bruce Kelly
Print or Image Color: Red, Gold and Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
At first, this new bag seems identical to its predecessor, but upon closer examination, you see that the flame now glows with an added golden color. Furthermore, the closing mechanism has changed to tear-off.

British Airways

Approximate Vintage: 1989
Received From: Craig Richards
Striped bag! Radical departure for British Air, revoked soon thereafter.

Has a serrated, not flat top.

China Eastern

Received From: Thomas Blickle
Print or Image Color: Navy
Background / Bag Color: Brown
Kind of a nice design. Daisies, grapes, a rose and holly on a yield sign is actually quite pleasing.

Qantas

Received From: Christoph Vogel
Print or Image Color: Red
Background / Bag Color: White
This bag harkens back to a simpler time in the evolution of Qantas bags. Just a simple kangaroo in the corner of the bag. No cumbersome instructions and no complicated film offers, just minimalist artwork.

Royal Air Maroc

Approximate Vintage: 1996
Received From: Larry Preuss
Print or Image Color: Red
Background / Bag Color: White
The mark of the crowned flying pentagram.

Aerolineas Argentinas

Received From: Ken Costilow
Print or Image Color: Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
No instructions or logos. Nice simplicity.

Air Malta

Approximate Vintage: 2012
Received From: Ed Sluimer
Print or Image Color: Red, Black
Background / Bag Color: White
Same as all the other recent Air Malta bags except they finally got around to putting their website on the bag.

Alitalia

Received From: Peter Brown
Print or Image Color: White
Background / Bag Color: Brown, White
This bag is the missing link between the 'old' Alitalia and the 1991 version. The amalgamation includes the face from the back of the 1991 bag and the bottom from the old bag. A bag Darwin would appreciate.

Inspection of the inseam reveals the bag behind the bag. One would notice that the manufacturer is not Burgopack Spa, but b.c.l. Imballaggl Sambuca V.P. One inseam also says "hermetic bag" and the other "sacchetto ermetico"

ADAC Postbus

Approximate Vintage: 2015
Received From: Rainer Schwartz
Print or Image Color: Black, White
Background / Bag Color: Yellow
What a great bag that has a map of all the cities you can get sick in in Germany. Hamburg, Berlin, Koln, Stuttgart, and Munich, each city with a different slang term for "barf bag". The back of the bag shows their Facebook page as well as a QR code for their newsletter.

Air Canada

Approximate Vintage: 2011
Received From: David Shomper
Print or Image Color: Red
Background / Bag Color: White
Just like every other Air Canada bag except for the syringe warning at the bottom of the bag that says, "Please ask your flight attendant for the proper disposal of a used needle." Really? Who can get needles through security? And who is shooting up on planes?
One other thing to note: While there is the needle with a line through it meaning "No needles", there's a circle with no line through it with a guy throwing up.

Aegean Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 2011
Received From: Petr Hosek
Print or Image Color: Navy, Black, White
Background / Bag Color: Blue, Navy, White
Demanding fealty from its member airlines, the Star Alliance brand forces a bag re-design of Aegean. I liked the bag better when it had a splash of red.

EasyJet

Received From: Ed Sluimer
Background / Bag Color: Orange, White
Great retro-looking bag in striped orange that is actually rather new.

Delta Air Lines

Approximate Vintage: 2016
Print or Image Color: Navy
Background / Bag Color: White Plastic
Delta decides to re-brand itself as baby friendly by making the barf bag a "Baby Care" bag. It says:
  • Changing tables in lavatories
  • Never flush diapers or bag
  • Place diaper in bag and deposit in waste container

Fortunately, it's still for barfing as it says the following on the back: FEEL BETTER
  • Never flush bags
  • Use for motion sickness
  • Deposit bag in waste container

Vueling

Approximate Vintage: 2016
Received From: Maria Dolores Prieto
Print or Image Color: Yellow, Black
Background / Bag Color: White
It's an old fashioned game of find the matching items to help you bide your time away! This bag says "Use me if you feel sick", "Si Te marlas usame", "Se ti viene il mal d'aria usami".

"Or try to find the matching pairs", "Y si no, pudees jugar a encontrar las pareias", "se no puoi giocare a trovare le coppie"

Yes, the bag is printed upside down.

Wizz Air

Approximate Vintage: 2016
Received From: Martin Stepanek
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: White
Simple and elegant bag. However, I have no idea why the 'i' in the logo is upside down. If you turn the bag upside down it says "ZZIM"

The Pukin' All Stars

Approximate Vintage: 2018
Received From: Bruce Kelly
Print or Image Color: Red, Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
According to their Facebook page
These are unique stylized vomit bags created for kids! These All-Star characters comfort your little one when tummy troubles arise, and save parents time, money, and the unpleasant clean up! Meet UpChuck Charlie, Lucy's Leftovers, and Chunky Monkey.
The All-Stars consist of Chunky Monkey, Lemur Lucy’s Leftovers, and Upchuck Charlie. These characters were created to comfort my daughter during long drives to visit family when at times she would get car sick. The creation of these specialized bags for my daughter has been a life saver. She asks for the bag when her tummy is bothering her, unlike old times when she would fight it. It was shortly after that that I decided to make these bags for families everywhere to help with the inevitable accidents. You can’t always see it coming but my daughter has been a lot more communicative now that she uses the bags, and she loves the stickers afterward which gets a smile out of her afterward. And for me? Well, I’m just grateful I don’t have to spend an hour cleaning a car seat.
