Air Via

Approximate Vintage: 2002
Received From: Oliver Conradi
Print or Image Color: Green
Background / Bag Color: White
If you step back and defocus your eyes, the logo looks something like a 2 person water slide. The designation of what this bag is for (air sickness, spuckbeutel etc) is found only within the bag's folds.

Air Vietnam

Received From: Hugh Gilmore
Print or Image Color: Green
Background / Bag Color: White
Oh my God! What a beautiful bag and an amazing find that harkens back to a simpler time. Clearly an old bag, crafted in the old world wire coat hanger style. A lot of airlines try fancy ways of turning their logos into an airplane, but this bag succeeds -- and simply at that.

Air Vietnam

Received From: Andrew Angel
Print or Image Color: Green
Background / Bag Color: Green
This bag features Air Vietnam's "plane as a coat hanger" logo. There are instructions on the back which teach me that Cach Dung means To Dispose, an oddly fitting translation.

Air Zaire

Received From: Michael Berting
Print or Image Color: Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
This bag looks really old, but it can't be ridiculously old since it was not that long ago the country was called Congo (I had a friend we nicknamed Congo back in math camp). Logo looks a bit like this old South African Airlines pterydactyl bag.

Air Zermatt

Approximate Vintage: 2003
Received From: Janusz Tichoniuk
Print or Image Color: Purple, Red, Green, White
Background / Bag Color: Purple, White
A helicopter bag! Excellent! Another beautiful Swiss bag with a helicopter flying in a clear blue sky in front of (of course) the Matterhorn. Can anyone explain what the purple section of the map of Switzerland (on the back) is supposed to be?

Barf Stud, Rod Young answers confidently: "The map on the Air Zermatt helicopter bag is of the canton of Valais. The purple section is the bit of Lake Geneva which belongs to Swizerland [bottom left of picture].

Air Zimbabwe

Received From: Steve Thompson
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: Olive Striped
Ah, the timeless elegance of an old classic. Vertical lines imbue it with an air of distinction. Quite a striking and beautiful bag if you ask me (you didn't).

Air Zimbabwe

Approximate Vintage: 1998
Received From: Ken Costilow
Print or Image Color: Black and Gold
Background / Bag Color: White
Very basic bag. Air Rhodesia would be jealous.

Air Zimbabwe

Approximate Vintage: 2006
Received From: Paul Mundy
Print or Image Color: Green
Background / Bag Color: White
I love the new Zip-a-Tone bird logo in clean green.

AirBC

Approximate Vintage: 1986
One of the only airlines that ever sent me a bag when I called them up for one.

Aires

Received From: Vidas Vekerotas
Print or Image Color: Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
It looks like the blades of a windmill made of 9 A's in a circle. Bold capitalization help make this bag a winner.

Airline

Approximate Vintage: 2003
Received From: Michelle Wiesner
Print or Image Color: Blue and Black
Background / Bag Color: White
This bag is a promotional piece created by A&E Network to tout their new reality show 'Airline'. And doesn't this bag really address the central debate of 'Air Sickness Bags: art or entertainment'? Resoundingly, bags are both art AND entertainment as the good people of A&E will attest.

Nice copy on the bag that says, "You wouldn't believe what comes out of some passengers' mouths."

Airphilexpress

Approximate Vintage: 2012
Received From: Gerd Clemens
Print or Image Color: Yellow
Background / Bag Color: White
Airphilexpress doesn't mean "lover of air express" nor does this airline operate out of Philadelphia. Rather, it's a low cost Philippine airline. I can't begin to guess what the logo is. OK, I'll begin to guess: it's a sauce put on the bottom of a plate meant to make your dinner look fancy.

Airplane II The Sequel

Approximate Vintage: 1982
Print or Image Color: Red, Gray, Black
Background / Bag Color: White
Although this is only a sticker on a bag, this is an actual bag from the Airplane 2 promo kit distributed in 1982 by Paramount Pictures. The bag came with a fake boarding pass and seat occupied card (not shown). Most movie bags from this era were for horror flicks, so this from a comedy is somewhat unique.

Airplane!

Approximate Vintage: 1980
Received From: Brian Floetl
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: White, Tan
I believe that this is the original 1980 bag from the movie Airplane! It's only a sticker on a brown paper lunch bag, but maybe that was the sophistication of press kits in those days. The bag has the following rhyming but somewhat nonsensical text:

You'll laugh at antics most insane
A flight of fancy -- that's Airplane.
You'll shake ... you'll roar ... you'll hold your tummy ...
There's never been a movie so funny.
And if with laughter you finally gag...
Don't hold it in -- just use this bag!

HAVE A GOOD TRIP!!

Airport Limousine

Received From: Robert Masumura
Print or Image Color: Orange
Background / Bag Color: White
I don't know much about this bag. It's from somewhere in China, but that's about all I know. The odd thing is that while ground transport might induce motion sickness, you wouldn't expect it in the stability of a limousine.

Airtours

Received From: Daniel Wilson
Print or Image Color: Red, Blue, Black
Background / Bag Color: White
Is this airline the predecessor of Airtours International? I'm told it's Airtours 1st Livery, whatever that is. I don't really know. Any info about this bag appreciated. Nice powder blue logo though.

Airtours International

Approximate Vintage: 1998
Received From: David Birtwell
Print or Image Color: Navy
Background / Bag Color: White
ENORMOUS bag. Could easily fit three meals.

Airtours International

Approximate Vintage: 1998
Received From: Andy Rudge
A kinder, gentler Airtours bag.

Airtours International

Received From: Martin Powley
Print or Image Color: Red, Blue, Green
Background / Bag Color: White
Same as the kinder, gentler Airtours bag except the name of the airline is located on the lower half of the bag instead of the upper half.

AirUK

Received From: Christoph Vogel
Print or Image Color: Red and Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
Sports British Union Jack with a fault line. You can even see underneath that the blue mantle of the Earth shifted somewhat.
