Metallic Blue Generic

Approximate Vintage: 2005
Received From: Artur Garriga
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: Blue
Cool metallic blue, like a sports car. Manufactured by Rigaplast in Spain, the instructions are comprehensive to the point of showing how to hold your hand daintily during every step of the process.

Metallic Green Generic

Approximate Vintage: 2005
Received From: Artur Garriga
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: Green
I love this bag because it uses my favorite term for motion sickness: Emesis. Manufactured by Rigaplast in Spain, the instructions are comprehensive to the point of showing how to hold your hand daintily during every step of the process.

Mexicana

Received From: Robert Masumura
Print or Image Color: Black and Red
Background / Bag Color: White
This flimsy bag is bolstered by a heavy duty plastic handle, as if you're going to use it to bring a treat to Grandma.

I pity the poor soul who had to use this if they were ill. Although it's tough to see on the scan, there is an enormous handhold cut out of the bag for your hand, so you can clutch the contents as though it were a six-pack. There is no obvious way to seal this bag, and there is no flat bottom which might allow you to put it on a level surface. Using this bag is barely better than barfing in your hands. Identical to this bag but the black rectangle is on the bottom left instead of bottom right.

Mexicana

Received From: Herb Schingoethe
Print or Image Color: Black and Red
Background / Bag Color: White
This is kind of the best of the bunch for the red Mexicana bags. It's plastic and has tabs to seal in the freshness.

Mexicana

Received From: Paul Diamond
Print or Image Color: Black and Red
Background / Bag Color: White
A large rendition of the tripod raptor logo. Bold, clean bag.

Mexicana

Approximate Vintage: 1987
Received From: Alan Laves
Print or Image Color: Black and Red
Background / Bag Color: White
Continental-like bag with a cool Mayan logo.

Mexicana

Approximate Vintage: 1999
Received From: Bruce Kelly
Print or Image Color: Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
Went to plastic. The model airplane-like instructions actuallly make sense.

Mexicana

Approximate Vintage: 2000
Received From: Steve Thompson
Print or Image Color: Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
Identical to the 1999 version, except they added a serif 'p' on the back of the bag. Why do they do nonsensical things like this?

Mexicana

Approximate Vintage: 2009
Received From: David Shomper
Print or Image Color: Blue, Navy
Background / Bag Color: White
Mexicana revamps its bag. It's still plastic, but they've added the website as well as
  • Bolsa de mareo
  • Airsickness bag
  • Sac pour le mal de l'air

Not sure why they saw the need to print the lighter blue as it adds nothing of substance to the bag.

Mexicana Click

Approximate Vintage: 2010
Received From: Bruce Kelly
Print or Image Color: Blue, Navy
Background / Bag Color: White
Much like the previous versions of Mexicana, but they've added the word Click. I have no idea why. Maybe they meant Clique, as if you're in some kind of cruel barfing club.

Mexicana Click

Approximate Vintage: 2011
Print or Image Color: Blue, Orange
Background / Bag Color: White Plastic
This bag says "aaaghh...! aaaghhh...! aaaghhhh...!", the sounds of suffering just prior to using this receptacle.

MIAT Mongolian Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 2000
Received From: Roger MacRae

Gotta love a horse with a cowlick. No Stars in the fold.

MIAT Mongolian Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 2003
Received From: YL Tan
Print or Image Color: Blue and Red

Wow, MIAT changes their bag ever so slightly. They remove the circle from the logo and replace the letter A's crossbar with a hint of fallen red. The uncircled logo now looks like a mouse pointer gone haywire.

MIAT Mongolian Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 2015
Received From: Oliver Conradi
Print or Image Color: Blue, Red, Orange
Background / Bag Color: White
Very similar to earlier offerings but now the logo has an orange background for some reason. I will never understand product branding.

Mid Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 2005
Received From: Gilles Beger
Print or Image Color: Navy
Background / Bag Color: White
I'm not sure what the deal is with Egyptian carriers calling themselves 'Mid' or 'Midwest', but they seem to have a fixation about it. Nice after dinner mint logo that should have been printed in red.

Midnight Cinema Cannibal Girls

Approximate Vintage: 1995
Received From: Scott Cunningham
Background / Bag Color: White
This is a rare find I purchased on eBay. It seems that in the mid-90s, a movie theater in Lodi, OH printed up special bags for several horror flicks under the umbrella name of Midnight Cinema

If you can believe the bags themselves, they are limited runs of 25 or 50. This particular bag is number 06 of 25

It says
MIDNIGHT CINEMA
PRESENTS
THE PICTURE WITH THE
WARNING BELL!
When it rings -- close your eyes
if you're squeamish!
These girls do exactly
what you think
they do!
