Doktor Goulfinger

Received From: Chuck Jarman
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: White
This bag was packaged with a DVD of 'The Devil Bat' starring Bela Lugosi, with your host, Doctor Goulfinger.

The bag says, "Operation: Hip Crypt"
Junior Agent's Field Gear Item #007
Doktor Goulfinger's B.A.R.F. BAG (B-Movie Activated Regurgitation Facilitator)
Unseasoned agents may experience extreme nausea when reviewing transmissions from Doktor Goulfinger. Barfage system required during course of video viewings until visual constitution builds.

  1. Place mouth over sack opening
  2. Eject contents of stomach

Domodedovo Airlines

Received From: Jon Barnes
Print or Image Color: Blue, Red
Background / Bag Color: White Plastic
Even though this airline went out of business in 2008, an airport of the same name still exists. I had never seen this bag until I watched a YouTube video by the donor, Jon Barnes.

Dragon Air

Approximate Vintage: 1989
Received From: Linda Weber
Background / Bag Color: Tan

Dragon Air

Approximate Vintage: 1996
Received From: Mary Beth McNamara
Print or Image Color: Gray and Red
Background / Bag Color: White
Leonard Araujo can't give a positive ID, but says he thinks it's from Korean Air Lines or some other International Korean Air Line. Bruce Kelly positively ID's the bag as Dragon Air, which I certainly believe given the other Dragon Air versions I have.

Dragon Air

Approximate Vintage: 1996
Received From: Christopher Wren
Print or Image Color: Gray and Red
Background / Bag Color: White
Same as other 1996 bag, except stars are printed in the fold.

Dragon Air

Approximate Vintage: 1997
Received From: Holger Huette
Print or Image Color: Gray and Red
Background / Bag Color: White
Close to 1996 bag, except now you're supposed to fold toward you instead of away from you. I'm sure some high paid motion sickness consultant determined that this is better somehow. Has the ACS Pacman in the fold.

Dragon Air

Received From: Daniel Senn
Print or Image Color: Red and Black
Background / Bag Color: White
Daniel tells me that this bag had been hanging in a place called the "Speedy-Bar" somewhere in Switzerland. I'm not sure what he had to do to convince the barkeep to give him the bag, but I hope he doesn't regret it.

Dragon Air

Approximate Vintage: 2000
Received From: Ken Pugh
Print or Image Color: Gold and Red
Background / Bag Color: White
Love the dragon that has 16 toes and an oak leaf tail.

Dragon Air

Approximate Vintage: 2001
Received From: Nicole Tufo
Print or Image Color: Gold and Red
Background / Bag Color: White
Identical to earlier bag, but has a star on the bottom.

DragonAir

Approximate Vintage: 2012
Received From: Ed Sluimer
Print or Image Color: Gray, White
Background / Bag Color: White, Gray
On the back, you are exhorted to "Please protect your environment, use this bag only when appropriate". Of course, they totally ignore how using 12,000 gallons of jet fuel on the flight doesn't protect the environment.

Dragonair

Approximate Vintage: 2014
Received From: Xusheng Chen
Print or Image Color: Gray, White
Background / Bag Color: White, Gray
The front is identical to the 2012 version, but the back now has some Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval or somesuch in the bottom left. It says "FSC", "MIX", Packaging from responsible sources. I think it's just a bunch of feel-good greenwashing though.

Drags (The) - Pent Up Fury Unleashed

Received From: Jason Koffman
Print or Image Color: Red
Background / Bag Color: White
An excellent bag from Estrus records in Bellingham, WA (a city in which I had a really lousy breakfast the only time I was there). The bag promotes this band's album which, sad to say, I'm less interested in than the bag. However, someone can prove me wrong and send me their CD.

Druk Air

Received From: Tim Gibson
Print or Image Color: Purple and Orange
Background / Bag Color: Purple and White
No, it's not Drunk Air, it's Druk Air, the Royal Bhutan Airline. A bag I've wanted for quite some time as their flights typically use crappy Thai Airlines bags instead of their own. The mountainous logo is reminiscent of the (really ugly) late 1980's Denver Nuggets uniforms.

Druk Air

Approximate Vintage: 2010
Received From: Alex McNeil
Print or Image Color: Red, Black
Background / Bag Color: White
This bag sports and elaborately drawn dragon.

DSB (Danske Statsbaner)

Approximate Vintage: 2013
Received From: Oliver Conradi
Print or Image Color: Red
Background / Bag Color: White Plastic
DSB (Danish State Railways) changed their logo in 2014 and this is their previous one so I'm guessing this train sickness bag is from 2013

Dubai Air Wing

Received From: Oliver Conradi
Print or Image Color: Gold
Background / Bag Color: White
This is an ornate, regal bag. Fancy crest with a palm tree adorns this bag. Nice use of Zip-Tone in the insignia.

Odd note: In the eagle's crest, there's a ship instead of an airplane.

Dubai Airwing

Received From: Bruce Kelly
Print or Image Color: Red and Gold
Background / Bag Color: White
This is a beautiful regal bag. In fact it's far more royal looking than any of the crappy bags from airlines that have 'royal' in their names. The bag is from the United Arab Emirates. They've mastered bag design, now if they'd just let their women get an education, their two top priorities would be taken care of.

Odd note: In the eagle's crest, there's a ship instead of an airplane.

Dutch Dakota Association

Received From: Steve Jones
Print or Image Color: Navy
Background / Bag Color: White
The Dutch Dakota Association is "actively engaged in the preservation of historical aviation in The Netherlands. Their motto is :'Together we work for the future of the past'" (whatever that means). They only have a couple of DC-3's and a DC-4, which I guess encompasses the entire history of Holland Flight. Cool shield logo on the bag.

DutchBird

Received From: Matthias Koch
Print or Image Color: Navy
Background / Bag Color: White
This is the only bag I know of that's manufactured in Holland. The bag has a nice crisp aura about it (I'm starting to sound like the wacky loon Shirley MacLaine).

Earl's World Barf Bag

Received From: Bruce Kelly
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: Yellow
Enormous plastic bag with rope draw strings that's the size of a small shopping bag. If you want to barf, this bag exhorts you to, among other things, Gulp air like a beached salmon or question life in general. One of several helpful hints: Remember - you won't hurl if you stay busy. The images of this bag are big, but the download is worth the wait.

According to Bruce: A word about the Earl's World Barf Bag- The bag started out at a tee shirt shop as a lowly sack to put tee shirts in at Homer Alaska, but was also intended for use on fishing charter boats. Earl was a bit of a character in a town full of characters. He died a couple of years ago of a heart attack and the remaining bags were given to a small bush airline named Bald Mountain Air Service. They use the bags on all their flights and to my knowledge no one else does.
